Almost got Mr. T at Newport, August 11
The weather was pretty gloomy out there today. Launched out at 8:00 in the morning with one of my buddies, bought some sardines, padded out towards the kelps. First stroll got me a sandbass, and then nothing for a while. At about 11:00, my buddy's reel started zzzzz, he hooked it up, fought for about 10-15 minutes, and since this was his first Mr. T, he didn't know what to do. When i got over to him, it broke off of his line. After that, there was no more bite, then at noon, we headed back home.
