We'll first day in the water today on my kayak. Damn this paddling around is tough. Fished Newport for 2 hours now feeling the pain in my back and hamstrings. Can't wait to get back out again in some better conditions. Still need to get a seat to make things a little more comfortable.
My son sold his tricked out scooter and bought me and himself 2 Malibu explorer kayaks from sunset OEX with the money. What a great kid thanks Harris. Unfortunately he broke his elbow and shoulder 2 weeks ago. So I couldn't wait anymore and headed out on my own. He should be out of his cast in about 6 weeks to start fishing with me.

Any suggestions on a seat are welcome, I am a taller person at 6 4" if that makes a difference for seat height. The kayaks are pretty much bare one has no hatch but 2 rod holders. The other has a hatch but no rod holders. Over the next couple of months I am looking to add on bait tanks and fish finders.

I haven't been in the seat market in a long time, so I don't know any makes or models. But make sure you get a high back seat with a good amount of padding and proper adjustments. The guys at OEX will make sure you get exactly what you need.

That's a great seat for that price IMO. As far as the rod holders on the back of the seat does anyone use those? Mine has them and I've just never felt comfortable with a rod in them, although I will put my gaff in there if need be.
