Crack on kayak
I have a 3" crack on the bottom of my kayak. I had it sitting in my friends garage for about 2 years. Can it be fixed?

Got any pics? It depends on where that crack is.

If that is the extent of the damage, it’s fixable. I would have questions about the plastic itself. Is it degraded and brittle? To be sure of things, I’d take it to OEX and have them look at it.

This may be kind of crazy, but has anyone tried Flex Seal?
They have a tape product that looks like it would stick to anything: https://www.flexsealproducts.com/pro...4aApIoEALw_wcB Andy |

It can be welded, but I do not take on the liability of cracks that size under the water line. Always a better bet if you can approach the repair from both inside and out. KC Welder, heat gun and scrap polyethylene. I have used some G Flex epoxy and just not as reliable.

Kayak crack repair
Loctite does work, however because of a bottom hull slit or crack you need to apply a cloth patch over that slit.Your hull oscillates or rocks as it goes thru the surf and sea surface.Oex probably has good advice on such repairs.I had a crack on a pylon next to a water drain hule.I applied clear whtie Gorilla glue then used a netted cloth with another layer of glue.So far no leaks.Good luck

I'll fix it for you where you at
I'm in San Diego weld some metal mesh into plastic inside and cover with welded plastic, on both sides.
Be careful you don't get to hot and make it worse. Go slow a little at a time so it can cool. If you get to big of an area hot...it will fall out...

I would drill a hole at each end of the crack to help stop it from spreading. Then do your repair.
