My first WSB of the year - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

After months of weekly fishing in LJ it finally pays off. I was pretty much in shock when I got this baby on the boat. I think my friend said my lip was shaking. It had been way to long without a good fight or bite.

I had been trying to catch a rock fish all day. I had finally given up, and was trying for something bigger. I ended up hooking up within 5 minutes. Luck and maybe some skill.. I was under some pressure since my friend caught a nice thresher that morning. both were released.

just kidding, kept the wsb.

46 lbs.. oh and sorry a bit late. caught 3/23/2011 10 am.

That thing is a pig!!! You are such a badass sharon! I especially love the dangling mack. Bet your friend who caught the thresher was just as excited for you! ;-)

Congratulations, Sharon. No need to apologize for the late post. I remember that day very well. I was sitting in a meeting thinking about the beautiful weather, and wishing I would be on my kayak. Your post gives me the motivation I need to stop wishing and just go fishing.

Hey Chris, good to see you. No love today. Unlike Sharon, all I got to pull on was a thresher. I figure its just gets me in shape for my 1st WSB this season.

Those pics are great! That fish really helps. Yeah, the mac in the background is great. Hard to believe you are sitting in the ocean.

Who needs fishfinder , GPS , mirage drive etc...

I have all of those, and can't catch WSB this big !
