So true..Born and raised in Hawaii.. We love us some Aku.. Dried/smoked is the most popular... When I was a kid we'd go to fish market and ask for any "aku heads" that were gonna be thrown out.. Sometimes get lucky with free aku bellies too... the heads are awesome bait for when we'd go crabbing and the bellies were cut into strips and used to catch all kinds of reef fish...
