Welcome on board Mani Yak !!!

To answer your question... a 15, 20, 30 and 40 work great for LJ. Personally I like about 150 yards of 65# Izorline Spectra with 150 yards of mono on top of that, capped off with a 6 foot topshot of flouro. The mono makes for a little more forgiveness, but you can also get broke off in the kelp, versus sawing through it with spectra.

Depending on the time of year, style of bite, where you want to fish, and what you want to fish for there are many options... These are a few of the set-ups I use, ordered by weight class, not how much I use them.

12# 8ft for bass (plastics)
20# 7ft for sabiki
20# 7ft for last resort getting yellows to bite
25# 7t for flyline maks/dines
30# 7t with some backbone for flyline macs/dines with a 2oz sliding sinker
30# 8-9ft Jig Stick
40# 7ft Yo Yo

But... If you really want to catch fish just follow Darkhorse around. ; )

See you OTW!
