I've had great success using an Albright Knot for joining spectra to mono or fluorocarbon line. When joining Spectra (30/50/65) to a larger line (30/40/50 fluorocarbon) I always use a minimum of 15 to 20 turns of the Spectra.
Lots of people also use a uni-to-uni for joining spectra to mono/fluorocarbon. With either method it is important to tie the knot carefully and make sure that the turns lay smoothly. An Albright, if tied correctly, is a very small diameter knot.
