Hooked a whale .... - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

When I read this post I had to laugh because the same thing happened to me on 12/31/13. I posted the story on BWE and a video on U tube titled "grey whale off La Jolla 12/31/13". The whale swam right at me from over 100 yards away and came 15 yard in front and then came up 20 feet to my left, but not before taking my mackerel and line, after engaging the reel it started to take me for a ride. I quickly reached for my knife and cut the braid. A still picture taken from my 1080p video of the whale going back down shows my line comming over the top of it's fluke just before cutting the braid. La Jolla is full of such great experiences.
