Looks like the power usage on the Gen 2s and Gen 3s are the same (.9a), unless you have the 9" (1.2a)? I rarely run my FF on the highest back light setting either. You get more amps out of the LiFePo4 batteries than similar capacity lead acid also (like 90% vs 50-70%).
