When its showing like that, the fish finder is not getting feedback from the transducer. This can be for number of reasons.

1.) The transducer is picking something up before the sonar signal hits the water.
2.) The transducer is not connected properly.
3.) The unit is faulty.

So I have a similar issue sometimes, my culprit is that I get sand in the Lowrance ready slot on the beach launch and as the water shifts the sand in the slot. This causes me to go in-between having and not having a reading.

I found that my remedy for that is to stick the mirage drive in backwards and get the kayak going backwards to push the sand out. Then I get good signal.


I would take the cover off the Lowrance ready slot, check the orientation of the transducer and make sure its facing straight down and isn't crooked. Check for sand while your at it.

Recheck your connections, make sure the twist lock in the back of the connector is twisted all the way.
