Easiest side of the island is south and they generally run 1-3 during wither months and get up t around 5 in the summer. Wind is another factor to deal with. There are kayak fishing groups to be found on facebook. My favorite is Hawaii Kayak Fishing. The group was originated by Big Island folks but there are plenty Oahu yakkers on it, many are military. You may want to check on two kayaks to help keep marital bliss.
