Paul,
It sounds like you need a rudder tune up. This can all be done at the back of the kayak. DO NOT remove either rudder handle! Untie the line in the back that controls the 'down' action of the rudder. Place the rudder and rudder handle in the 'down' position. Pull "down" line tight and retie. Next, Untie the lines that controls the 'left' and 'right' action of the rudder. Place the rudder and steering handle all the way to the 'right', pull line tight and retie. Do the same thing for the left side. This should fix most minor steering issues.
