I'll be fishing the Pipe in the morning. Yellow Tarpon 140.

Sum Fun is awesome, I got my nickname while working on that boat.

Well no luck today. Went out found bait at headlands. The monster size smelt were everywhere. After filling the bait tank my fish finder refused to work so I figured since I haven't ever fished dana before i didn't know where the sandy areas were without the finder so I skipped going for halibut and trolled for thresher shark. No bites but the bait did act like it was being chased a few times. Slight breeze with wind chop.

never seen such good sheepshead fishing along the coast here. fished just south of Main Beach on some structure that kept us going for the first 4 hours on pretty awsome sheepshead, sand/calico, sargo, and blue perch with some other bycatch. had i think 4 sheepshead that were over 6 pounds with one pushing 12. Had 3 black seabass caught within about 10 minutes of eachother on the 2nd stop. 2 of which were going at the same time. Also saw the first grey whale to be reported along the california coast this season. Besides the weather it was a good time. saw a couple guys in hobies leaving the harbor to hoop while we were coming in around 445.
