Nikon (AW 100) has a new camera for sale at Costco for about $320.00. I bought one a month ago and sofar it is working good.

contour hd is another option a little bit more streamlined but accessory are more expensive

If you get the GoPro, get the GoPro 2. Check out their site and you can compare the regular to the 2. The big one is from 5 to 12 megapixel photos. Drawback is that there is only an add-on view screen and it apparantly sucks the battery dry.

it depends if you want a still camera or a video camera or a still camera that shoots video ok. Not so much the video part, but the focal length of the lens won't be as wide as the gopro.
Here is a good review of the latest waterproof still cameras that shoot video. The next button is kinda hard to find, maybe about 1/2 down the page. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q311...pactgrouptest/ If you want a video camera, then get the new gopro.
