Step it down to a 6V battery. Will run super quiet, all day, and your bait will thank you.

I was under the impression that most of the pumps say 12v; I know mine does. So could I use a 6v battery?

I run my tank with one of the 6v 12ah batteries I got from Andy at oex sunset. Runs my tank constantly with no switch, not for a full day fishing but SEVERAL days fishing with no charging. In fact its never fully died on me, I charge it like once a week.

right now my ff and bait tank is off of 1-12v 11ah battery. I'm curious as to why folks are recommending to run 2 batteries? i've read the other thread http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ight=batteries
where andy recommends 2 batteries as well. is it just a personal preference thing? does 2 batteries eliminate troubleshooting on the water? i mean, if you splice 2 connectors correctly by soldering and making sure of a watertight seal, wouldn't it be just as good? not arguing here, would just like to know for my own knowledge. edit: post #9 from url above pretty much sums it up. |

How old is your live well? Maybe just buy the latest Hobie battery from OEX. It comes with a trick charger and connector too...I'm sure they can help you set that up. The Hobie tank I just got came with a 6v 10amp to run the 500gph Attwood...its totally quiet and bait never dies...on when I get there, off when I leave. |
