This rack is what I'll be using to hoist my new PA14 up into the rafters:

Racor Heavy Lift

It has a 250 pound capacity, so I'll put a half sheet of plywood down with 2" PVC pipe to fit the PA channels just right. No straps and no worries of any chafing or deformation. There should still be enough room on the platform to also store all the crap that goes along with having a fishing kayak...
