Might be a stupid question but im new to the whole kayak thing, why do you need a bildge pump? Like how does there get to be "that" much water in your yak and isnt there a drain whole on one end so you can just like tip it an drain any water? Or is this used for out on the water?

That pump is for the bait tank.

Is that the only reason you need a bildge pump? Cuz that makes sense.

No, it's not a bilge pump at all. That pump circulates fresh water into the bait tank (in the center hatch) to keep your bait fish alive. The white tube going out the side of the yak is the overflow for the bait tank. A lot of guys carry manual bilge pumps (or a big sponge) in case of emergency but i've never seen an electric one on a yak.

Thanks for the kind comments and replies. I plan to take the yak out sometime next week or two. I have two weeks off for the holidays and want to get out 2 or 3 times. My wife saw the camo color when I got home and she absolutely hated it. She likes the bright blue, reds, yellows, etc. Love her to death, but she does not understand my Neanderthal side.....lol.
