I was stationed in Hueneme, lots of bugs in the back harbor. I fished Mugu like nobodies business for leopards and guitarfish, but thats not where you want to go. Go to Leo or Deer Creek kelp on a calm day, and since the kelp is SO CLOSE to shore you wont be freaking out. Ive seen......everything.... in that kelp or around it! Flatfish, troll the jettys close up to the rocks. Sheephead out by the breakers, again calm days you don't want to end up in the news being splattered on the rocks you just want to get lost at sea right?
