Checked a couple routes from La Jolla Shores to Ensenda.

Going thru Tecate instead of TJ is almost the same distance, less than 10 miles difference, but it's about 45 minutes longer (surface streets etc.) but those times are all out the window now! Especially with the traffic that will have to diverted

That's gonna hurt northern Baja economically. Moving the truck traffic to the back way from TJ/Tecati is going to be a nightmare. The Baja or bust might have to stick to the gulf side. Crossing at Calexico and going south towards San Felelpe is a very good road and the pavement ends 3-5 miles before Gonzaga Bay. If you have a decent vehicle you can keep heading south to where the road intersects with the road from Baja 1 to BOLA. Mike
