This one is better - you have the horizon closer to the bottom third of the frame and the kayaker at the right third of the frame. Rule of thirds makes photos a step above the rest.

ok - back to fishing...

Awesome pics and nice reptile sighting!

I've seen a few turtle in LJ, and there is one that supposedly lives in the Marine Room area!

Awesome! Both photos are great Andy, but to have that sea turtle come up to you like it did, is truly bitchen'. Lucky you on that. The few times we've seen sea turtles off of LJ, they skidaddle before we can get closer than 15 feet away, mostly just head views on them.

Owen,

I would bet that was the same turtle, very cool video. I swam with the sea turtles in Lanai years ago, very cool experience.

That turtle's demeanor to you, makes a person think it was held captive for awhile and doesn't fear people.

Yes very cool experience, I swam with a few sea turtles myself in Kauai. Loved it, awesome creatures.

Amazing photos Andy. You must exude calm or some thing to have that turtle chill with you. I've seen them in LJ, North Carolina, Baja, and south SD Bay and they never hang out like that. Mike

Great pics Andy. My wife and I went to Kona in October and during a late afternoon swim in the resort lagoon were surprised by 10 or so sea turtles swimming with us under the waterfall. They are awesome creatures and I will never forget that afternoon. Great pictures!
