Pretty much what Dan said.

I have some mono on my reels, then 300 yards of spectra and finally a floro leader.

I like 30# and 40# spectra as I struggle to break off anything stronger than 40# if I get snagged.

It's winter now, so some folks like mono all the way. Fishing is further out, no kelp to worry about, and that mono stretch helps with them sholdery winter yellas.
