From this post sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders and good judgment, if you still only plan sticking to short trips to the kelp, I say go for it. You've practiced for the sticky situations, you get the gist of it, so why not. This coming from a fellow noob, it's not too bad going out alone just mind your personal capabilities don't be too cocky and just have fun. You've got a better chance of getting advice by meeting someone on the water anyway. Just my opinion guys no need to argue over others entitlements this is supposed to be fun.... I think?
