I have the PA14 and love it. For ease of transport I slide it into the bed of my truck, but even with a full 8' bed it sticks out probably more than the highway patrol would like. Haven't run into any problems though. For long trips up north or to Baja the kayak definitely goes up on the racks - purely because I'm paranoid someone is going to run into it...
Go to Home Depot and buy a garden sprayer. Fill it up before you leave the house, and spray the yak down during the loading process. You won't be bringing home the beach that way...
