Clever idea.
Hobie warns us not to store our boats on the wheels to avoid distortion of the hull. I don't know how susceptible the hulls really are to disfiguration from storage. I store mine on the wheels, with the bow up on a small utility stool. I haven't noticed any distortion yet. The Hobie cart seems to fit in a strong part of the hull, the two pipes have donut pads where they rest on the scuppers, and there's a padded cross-member that distributes the load as well. Maybe if it gets hot (under a darker color non-reflective tarp? in a hot utility shed? the back of a hot van?) the risk of problems compounds with heat? I take chances with my own things, but because of Hobie's official warning I would suggest proceeding with caution.
