My reels are older so some have the sealed bearings and some have the blue plates.
The rubber handle avets have two additional bearings. The older aluminum hanldes are sleaved and bushings.

The MXJ is a narrow MXL.

The bearing issues are that Avet has finally switched to a servicable bearing. Blue rubber plates are easy to remove repack and fish. Older metal and some blue or very hard to service. If you can take a sharp point and easily flip up the rubber plate, it's new. If the plate is metal or the blue plate has a metal plate undere it - they are old. They are $5 a piece.
