I'll start worrying when I catch a yellowtail while I'm fishing for salmon here in Washington.

I do carry a folding net, just because of the regulations. It is secure in the back along side of the bait tank, but has never been removed except when unloading the kayak.

That looks more like a pink salmon doesn't it? I've never seen a king with a green back like that.

I think that green back is mostly from the filter used, Pinks usually don't have well developed teeth in salt water, and the mouth is white with a black gum line, this fish looks like a black mouth and gums.

With a green back like that, I'd pin that sucker on a 8/0 circle hook and sent it back down on a carolina rig! Salmon fed cbass!!

Gaff is a moot point if you just jump in and shoot them.

Matanaska has fishing penis envy.
Humbolt=known for dope growing and women who look like lumberjacks. San Diego=Known for sun, nice weather, beaches, lots of fish, beautiful women. I rest my case. |

Last boat I went on in SD had a "great" day knocking juvenile johnny bass dead. The local rockfish fishing in Northern California will knock local SDs socks off. If your talking number of fish per trip, Humboldt will win every time. Chasing tail and tuna is different story.
