Want some insane top speed? Forget polyethylene plastic yaks. Carbon fiber is the way to go.
http://stealthkayaks.co.za/kayak-ran.../profisha-475/ Not sure how heavy you are, but you can get 8-9kts top speed with only steady effort.

Any secondary stability to it? If I ever go back to paddling I'll be getting a 475 or 525.

Secondary stability is as good as any touring yak. Love the yak.

I had a trident 13 for many years and loved it. The new tridents however have a much better seat. In my opinion the seat is a make or break. If I didn't love my outback so much I would get another trident. like the others have said it punches through surf with ease, its fast, and there is a ton of storage space with the rod pod (which I miss)

I've paddled the Prowler and Trident for over 15 yeas now and really like their ability to cut through waves and handle surf.
In the subject of the Stealth. I had an opportunity to use Makobob's a couple times and I'll tell you that it is fast with very little effort. Of course when you get one of these sleek low to the water cruisers, there are some trade offs. It is a wet ride in choppy water. I found that none of my rod butts fit an any of the stock rod holders and very little room on the deck to lay them down if you can't use the rod holders. The rod holder issue certainly can be fixed and I think I noticed that Bob had indeed did some mods but I would expect that for 3 grand, it would be fishable out of the box, and it wasn't for me.
