not recommended
its not gonna matter how much foam you put under the side of the kayak. I dented the side of an outback laying it on its side in a hot garage. with a PA, the problem will be compounded because of its sheer weight and size. this technique is not recommended for any Hobie. you can confirm that with any dealer or the manufacturer. hanging with straps and pulleys would be a better option if clearance of vehicle roof top is not an issue. hope this information helps.

A PA on it's side is no Bueno...especially in the heat of a So Cal garage in the summer.
If you have the space you can store your PA upright... Most of the dealers and and the Hobie warehouse in Oceanside use this space saving method. ![]()
