The area you circled is the deep part of the canyon... 72 fathoms is 430 feet deep.

Recreational divers aren't going to go beyond 130ft.

Sorry about your rod Jin.

My son lost his first saltwater rod/reel (seeker/Penn 975) in the
surf coming back from the kelp at LJS. It was a gift from his grandad
that passed away in '05.

He even had it leashed, but the darn leash snap broke.

The amazing thing is how fast the sand there buries stuff.
