Silver Strand is a straight up surf launch. The surf can be big so look for rips when launching. It's all sand bottom with no stucture or kelp so you can guess the species. You can also fish the bay side there so there are two good yakfishing options.

Like he said it can be thumping surf, but there is kelp out there, just south of the Pier is a pretty thick bed.

Check for bacteria counts, in particular after a rain.

I am not the best for take offs and landing on the beach, I have jumped off in waist high water and hung on the the back of my yak, just so I wouldn't pearl! ![]() Next summer I will take the Yak Safety Class in LJ, so I can run with Da' Big Dogs! ![]()
