Not just the size, but the nice variety. Redondo back in the 70's and 80's was 1/2day boat limits of Bocaccio with an occasional Chillipeper. Reds, Barborpoles, and Chuckle heads were primarily offshore island catches.

Thanks again John. Bocaccio are still pretty common in a few areas I've located. Sunsets are common but anything over 2lbs are pretty hard to find. Same with Chuckleheads and Barborpoles. I think I fish too deep for Vermillion but I am sure they are around. I did found a spot that holds the Mexican rockfish, but the one I brought up are about 12" or smaller. There are still a lot of grounds I need to explore.
