On my escape I use a cordura mat that I lay on the back corner, lift the nose on and pick up the back and slide it forward. On my focus because of the antenna, I use a side load bar then lift the back and slide it over. I will probably stick with side load on my next vehicle as it's got a spoiler. I've got a 2019 outback and run it hull down on the racks no problem.

To load on top of a SUV I carpeted two 8-foot 2x4s with ladder hooks on the end. Makes it easier to slide up on top. But then I got a trailer for the PA to take up even more garage space
