Happens a lot more then kayakers realize, I've had them come right up to my kayak checking me out looking for a free meal. Had one take a calico from me. Hooked another while fishing for leopard sharks, didn't realize what it was until it came up under the kayak, coulda used some TP right then. It was huge, and once it realized it was hooked it easily broke the line.
