It?s been a couple of years but I always launched at the boat ramp, although mainly because I was trailering my Hobie PA14 so parking there too. I was still walking/wheeling my kayak down to the actual ramp. The usual ramp etiquette and occasional insanity applies

These days I usually use the ramp as I too trailer my kayak(s), however, before then I launched on the other side of the harbor from that dock. I have a PA14 and it wasn't that hard to launch it there. FYI, you don't want to park in the boat ramp area unless you have a trailer, unless you want a ticket.
