Extreme Kayak Fishing Tournament - Summer Slam Part 1 2025

Today is the two week count down for Extreme Kayak Fishing Summer Slam 1 Tournament - 2025. The Captain's meeting will be on Thursday June 5th with a raffle. The tournament is Saturday June 7th at Pompano Beach. Captain's meeting attendants enjoy free appetizers, receive a goodie bag and an ID for the tournament. It is also a good time to sign up to purchase live bait and join the side bet Calcutta's for largest King Mackerel and Tuna. To participate in the tournament, one can also buy a ticket on the morning of the tournament if you provide prior notice.

Traditionally the first tournament in Early June produces some Blackfin Tuna while the second tournament in August has a higher chance for a Wahoo, though there has not been a Wahoo taken in a tournament since 2017. Wahoo have been taken every month of the year by Kayak in SE Florida. Last year a legal swordfish was landed by an angler jigging for Tuna -- Beauty of Florida is the multitude of possibilities.
