VHF radio?? safety equip. - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Coming from the old school of "safety in numbers" I'd suggest fishing with a friend first. Add to that a whistle, PFD and a floating VHF radio. Also a must read is the post by BigBarrels on his experience on a yak gone down.
