The BWE Gang and the wind NPH May 1, 2011
We we started out day at 6:20ish made bait and waited for the BWE gang to show up. George was really excited about his new purchase, and George pops out his boombox and starts singing to his music. A waterproof Boom box and it floats too!!! That is next on my purchase list. So after making bait Tim and Matt catch up with us. I think Matt forgot to bring sunscreen Then we head out of the bay with Rob, Then we caught up with Darknachos. So here a picture from far away as we get out of the harbor. AND THEN WE CAUGHT THE BIG ONE SUPER MEGA WING GUST up to 25 mph. Fishing was slow and we caught the BIG WIND kept blowing us away from the honey hole. IT started howling so much we had to make a run for in back into the bay. I was the last one in and my arms still hurt. we caught some scuplin, calico , lizard fish. I even heard someone caught a legal halibut but Matt never showed it to me. GOod times Last edited by wiredantz; 05-01-2011 at 09:13 PM. |

The secret HONEY Hole
This was the hot spot, one calico after the other.
LOL... I wonder how many people are going to be at the spot tomorrow. |

This is a rod holder that Matt made to use for halibut fishing. You should drop him a line to inquire how he did it. I have two of these that he made for me and they do work.

I couldn't believe how much air that fish got. Good call letting it go, she lived to fight another day.

ok Rob,
no matter how close to the camera that sandie will not be any bigger for another few years we had a pretty good day up in Refugio, rock fish and lingcod one legal but the whales were in rare form, coming within arms length to the yaks, for some pics, I have never been that close to them in a yak, didn't know whether to be scared (of being flipped) or excited to be so close, literally could have petted a juvinal while the adult was about 20 ft away, the juvinal whale swam under me, we had approx 15 ft visability turned on its side and looked me in the eye, very cool, probably a once in a life time deal, hopefully one of the guys I was with will send me some pics. Being flipped, I took care of that on my own on the landing, I had a big yard sale, didn't lose anything except my pride, beach full of people... |

Don't forget the two stop signs, the yield sign and the flashing red light.
