I have a 12. I don't run the pump in salt water. I keep mac, sardines, and squid alive and active all day by pulling the drain plug. It works so well that my fishing partners call me 'the bait barge".

Depending on your weight you may sit so high in the water that this will not work on a 14.

Just get the timer switch.
