I have the outback and i love it. I can stand up and cast in the bays and even move around off shore to get whatever i need. I just have ran into some people that said i was stupid for getting the outback and not the revo. I just wanted to see what others would say

Use which ever one you feel comfortable in. The only way you would be stupid is to get the one everyone says to get and you not being comfy in. It's all personal preference. I love my revo but that's my preference.

I've had an Outback but now have a Revo...
Revo tracks a straighter line Outbacks have more top space Don't know how my lobster traps are going to fit on the Revo but the Outback was perfect for that app Revo def cuts through the surf better & is a bit faster Revo seems to be easier on longer distances (?) Revo sits low so you got wet butt all day unless waders are on Neither is perfect but both are good to go all things considered |

If you decide to go with the revo, there's a great deal on craigslist right now. 2009, Fully loaded with fish finder, hobie bait tank, turbo fins, wheele cart, rod holders and more. $1700. I wish I'd came across this when I got mine.

I would go with the Revo. It's a little easier to get past surf and overall quicker. One thing I've learned is you can teach yourself balance but you can only go as quick as the the yak will let you.
I recommend the Revo as an owner of one as well. I'm 240 with at least another 60lbs of gear and accessories on board. So it will handle all that you and then some. I bet you can get about 400lbs and still be float fine. Although you will likely rest a little lower in the water. Last edited by poorpaddy; 09-01-2011 at 03:45 PM. |

Love it. I have plenty of room with it being stable. Nice high sides small enough to turn in a small area and keeps my fat ass sitting high and dry. A little slower then the long sleek ones but hew I can't have everything. But most of all I like being more stable and able to move around and stretch out after being not the water for hours.
