I'd be more worried about the wind not only blowing your tent away...but also the sand, dirt and dust that's going to be sifted by the screens on your tent...that turns the dirt into the consistency of fine powdered sugar.... and buries you and all your camping gear...

Closing up the windows should be good enough for the sand blowing? What kind of tent are you looking to buy? |

Don't over think the whole wind situation at Gonzaga. I was there for a week last May and did not have a tent or a sleeping bag. I slept on a beach lounger outside with a blanket over me. Not one day was I kept off the water because of wind. The only thing you have to be aware of is the speed at which conditions change. It takes literally seconds to go from flat calm to blowing at 30, but in the spring, you won't get days and days of this wind. Couple hours it dies down just as quickly and boom, you are back on the water.

Follow me
Sorry, I guess I misunderstood you. I thought you wanted to follow someone down there. When I go I will be staying until the 20th. Plus I am only able to carry my PA on top of my SUV and I'm packed to the gills with all of the gear I never seem to need but always bring.

Here is the list of guys on the trip.
Romspacenut has not contacted me so I believe that he is out. Buddha, Jeff is our master chef. Johnny 5, John our Kitchen helper. Carlos, friend of Johnny5. Walrus, Wally our 2x4 donation man for PROJECT LAS ENCANTADAS. John, Wally's brother. Defjack, Jack 75 yrs old and fishing hard. Ful-rac, Tony from TEAM SEWER. Deamon, Jim from TEAM LOLLIPOP. Svendawg, Sven my friend and our main SAND mover for Las Encantadas. Looks like he will be coming on Friday. Makobob, Bob kitchen help and mother duck for the BAJA EXPRESS. So it looks like 10 fishing fanatics going on this trip. Just waiting on the confirmations of Sven and Ful-Rac: Tony |

MakoBob & Buddha- So I (Jordan) might be able to get away next weekend 90% chance, but won't know until Wednesday if I'm 100%. I believe Romspacenut (Robert) is still in as we will be discussing him riding with me (depending if my Thule XT500 Xsporter racks get here by Wednesday, so I can double up the PA's on my truck). I know I haven't been in the discussion lately, but I've been following the thread and decided I'd like to check it out. I'd be coming back either late Saturday or early Sunday. Anything details that I need to know please message me as I'm a bit out of the loop. Thanks!

No worries. I can drive but prefer to carpool with someone heading back Sunday night. If anyone has room let me know and I can break the bad news to wife that I will be gone that weekend

Looks like I may have a hall pass for a few days so looking to either carpool with someone.
Planning on leaving late Thursday night and making it by Friday early morning. And returning by Sunday night. Just need to be back before 7am Monday to take kids to school. Looking to share cost of driving down and worst case will take my car as I could throw 2 -3 kayaks (reg size kayaks) on the roof. Have driven down baja even further and am familiar with roads. PM if interested. Thanks |

Just returned from Las Encantadas one hour ago, Friday nice, Saturday windy 10-15 but fishable, Sunday like glass until we left before 9. Yes it may be warm and should be fun for all. I left my Outback and a Stealth 14 there so if someone needs to borrow a yak the stealth 14 is available, Picking up supplies on Tuesday. The Baja Express leaves from Johnnys Shell at 515 Magnolia in El Cajon at 6am Thursday. See you guys there. BTW the FULL Moon might be up for us to enjoy. Guys, bring a jacket or hoodie as it can get cool in the evenings.
