Hi

I decided to get a kayak and do some fishing now that I moved back to San Diego.

I have been lurking on this board for a few days and you seem like a good lot so I figured I would register and say hi.

If anyone has any newbie tips or wants to tolerate a newbie on a trip some time, let me know. Also any super secret fishing information of value will be compensated with beer.

You're doing the right thing, check out the old posts, and new ones and learn. There are tons of Youtube videos about Kayak fishing also. Check out Jim Sammons Kayak Fishing Tales.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Does 650 for a 2005 tarpon 160 w/rudder and a cart sound decent?

Looks like its in good shape from the pictures, I am going to go look at it tomorrow.

Glad you made the mistake, that is exactly the sort of trip that made me want to start kayaking in the first place. Good info.
