Beer

As I sit here enjoying my habanero sculpin, I have to ask you all... Where do you get your Ballast Point?

I'm up past the LA area, and finding anything other than yellowtail (and maaaaybe a couple others if you're lucky) is fairly difficult. I was forced to order a variety pack online so that I could try a few of their offerings.

I have to imagine the different varieties are easier to come by down in SD. Are there particular stores down there that offer a good number of their beers? I see several tasting locations and whatnot on their website. But next time I'm down in the area, I'd like to be able to stock up.

Any info would be appreciated.

BevMo usually has a good variety, atleast the one in Oceanside.
I like the grapefruit Sculpin, the Yellowtail is always a good one but I had their Grunion the other night at the Village Pub in Carlsbad. It was pretty dam good, or I was pretty dam drunk.
Let's just go with both.

Bevmo and total wine are kind of a let down out by me. Seems like yellowtail and regular sculpin are always stocked... With the occasional longfin and bigeye thrown in.
And yah, I like the grapefruit sculpin as well. I had ordered Dorado, habanero sculpin, grapefruit sculpin, and a few others online. Have not been disappointed yet.

Sculpin is overpriced and BP is quickly becoming the next stone.

I'd rather go to alesmith or hess.

Try some Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA if ballast point gets too pricey. Imo one of the most underrated ipas around. Rite aid usually has them on sale for $13.99 12 pack and total wine has them always for pretty cheap. 🍻 🍻

X2

I really like those beers made by LBKAYAKDUDE, but I don't think they're in stores yet!

That last batch of Habanero Sculpin was seriously hot. I could only drink half a bottle

Ballast Pt is only $8.99-$10.99 a 6pk here depending on the brew you pick. Also everyone can walk to the Brewery to restock as well, so that helps. I rarely drink, but when I do it's a Ballast Pt that you will find in my hand, Piper Down or YT

From the tap, I'm walking distance to the Home Brew Mart.

If you are coming down here then you should go straight to the brewery and buy a case. Ive also found a liking to the Coronado Brewery Islander IPA. Got myself a 2L growler

Thanks for the info guys. Not sure why the Home Brew Mart didn't pop up in my searches.

Wondering if the brewery locations (like Scripps Ranch) sell 6 packs and cases, or just fill growlers and kegs. I suppose I could call them... but I hate having to use my phone for making actual phone calls.

Try Green Jug … Southwest corner of Platt and Victory in West Hills. Not as big as BevMo, but pretty good variety. Cheers!
