According to my info the bass are hungry and DP has anchovies, small sardines and big sardines for bait at the receiver. If the swells are big the beach will be green or brown.

Fish count has been pretty low lately. I heard some chatter though and use the right bait and should be decent pickings.

I'm planning to head out on Tuesday if anyone want's to join me. I'll probably chuck the iron, jerkbait, and swimbait for surface species if they're around. If not, the pipe and bass will be my focus.

Slow day, windy by 9. Tried headlands and made bait but not too much goin on. Came back to doheny and had a raked bait in 20ft of water. That was the highlight of the day! Off the water at 11

Yea man windy out there, all caps now. Launched at NOON into what felt like 15 mph. Stayed close, landed some nice barely legal Calicos on Big Hammers near Doheney. Got up to 20 or so with stronger gusts, lots of chop. Called it at 3:00, cleaned up and home ready for dinner by 4. Not a perfect day but I'll take it.

I don't think I've ever found the pipe at deeper than about 80 feet. I've looked where it's supposed to end in about 110' but found nothing but sand. It's gotta be there somewhere...

Run between the barberpole (S) and spar (N) buoys.

I figured it went in a straight line to the barberpole then took a turn north to the other buoy. I've got it marked straight towards the barberpole but lose it around 80' or so. I've zig-zagged between north and south poles looking but missed it. Sounds like I need to get out and cover some more ground.

Speaking of pipes, anyone ever try to find the Aliso Creek pipe? It looks like the deep end of it is fishable..

Alan-

The DP pipe runs 1.25 nautical miles out from the tip of the long jetty. It's .25 n miles between the northern-most pole and the one to the south (of the three). This you know. There is another spar buoy 1.75 n miles to the south, very near some interesting bottom structure.

Yeah, the Pipe is hiding around 80' and very little structure until you're actually at the spar buoy.

The Aliso Creek pipe is 1.34 n miles long and starts at about 51.38 degrees. Very close to the MLPA, you'd have to check. I don't go near LB for fishing and consequently, to spend any of my money.

I got my first yak and OC yellow off the Aliso pipe way back when the MPAs weren't even a nightmare yet.

I've seen the Dana pipe depicted differently on different charts but whichever it ends at the spar buoys (theyre called the barber poles but only one is striped) so working between them you find the "end".
