I seem to only find the little lizard fish as by-catch. I've had greenbacks on the bottom plenty of time to not catch a lizard fish of that size. Any tips on finding a bigger one, are you deeper than right on the NW corner in LJ?

What if I can't find a huge lizard to fish with? What will I do then?!
That must of been a huge lizard if it ate your greenie. |

The lizard fish was probably 10-12 inches, the mac that it bit was probably 8-10 inches, these larger grade lizard fish aren't easy to catch but they are around. I've found schools of the smaller grade lizard fish that are so big that you can actually see them on your sonar, on my screen the school looks similar to what a small sardine or anchovy school would look like; slightly scattered and usually hanging out between the bottom and mid column. The Lizard fish that I caught the WSB with is probably the 3rd or 4th larger size lizard that I've caught this year, most have been on the smaller end (4-6 inches).....I dumped those

My first day out at La Jolla I caught a stringer of lizard fish hooked one on a flyline and within 20 minutes got a wsb 28". I was just using the lizard fish until I got greenbacks never wouldve thought wsb like them
