Otw LJ report

Bait tough in the morning macs are in 300 ft feeding on chovie. No current in the am found a few spanish and big dines. Made 5 baits and looked around. No current in the kelp early morning and light crown 2 pbs and 7-8 kayaks. Wen outside to check the birds nada just macs on chovy.

Marked a rockpile on the paddle back in 230...

Nice Ling! Got my first one a few weeks ago. Love catching those things. Caught plenty on party boats but on a kayak it was even more fun!

Sorry you didn't get on the yellows as planned. Kinda makes me feel better about missing the trip though.... LOL

What swimbait is that? MC? What weight head were you using to get down to the rocks? I've been throwing 2oz but with any sort of current its not enough...

Not much current that day, so I got away with a 4 Oz leadhead. The swim bait is a Reebz Lures I think about a 6-7". Longer swim baits are better though. You want a nice fat profile for ling cod.
