Anyone try jetskit fishing??

Thought of buying a boat but put that on back burner. Was looking at new Yamaha Waverunner and can get new 2017 for a great price. Wanted to know how you guys who have done it like it....don't like compared to kayaks. Thanks

Some of those are plenty big enough and stable enough to fish from. Plus you could hit the 10 mile or even 15 mile line in less than 20 minutes on a calm morning.

That thing is sweet!!!!!! But $32,000 is a far cry from $5,000 or less if you don't mind an older See Doo thingy.

This thread made me go look on craigslist. There are some killer deals out there. Especially if you don't mind an older version.

I used to see someone at Avalon who would go out on a jetski that had rod holders and a crate for tackle.

I have not seen him lately, but I don't live there.

Berts is cleaning out their new 2017 Yamaha VX 3 seaters 1.0 High Output for $8999 with reverse etc and a nice big platform in back ideal for live well. Only hits 60mph on flat water but thats not the point. I'd like 2 also but I figure when my son wants to go we I can pull the Hobie behind me till were out there and then we can take turns out on yak and ski. Just like a mini Mother Ship!!!

My buddy has a couple that he has converted over the years for fishing only.
Its pretty damn fun!

We've gone out to La Jolla and done well and then the last couple years we have gone offshore as he's added jerry cans, upgraded his batteries and bait tanks. We've gone about 30+ out and then trolled. Got some dodos late last season. Pretty fun and a challenge landing dorado on a jet ski!

We did a scooting trip a week ago, out to the 182. Found a couple patties, bait and marked fish, but could not get anything to come up.

If it were myself, I'd probably buy a boat.

There was a guy from back east (Cape Cod or the islands, maybe) that fished off a jetski and used to post reports on an AZ Bass forum. This was years ago when I still lived out there. I wish I remembered his name, but the dude had the coolest rig and would SLAY the sheep's off oil rigs out there. He would always fish bait with little crabs and take the most beautiful pictures of the day. I gotta see if I can dig that guys info up....

EDIT: No idea if this will work or not, but I found the dude. Name is Brian and his handle is/was "jetskibrian"
