Kayak Diving/Camping Trip, Catch and Cook Lobster Tom Kha
Weather was perfect, and we were lucky enough to meet a guy who took drone footage of us launching and paddling out for the day. I also recorded my VHF radio on NOAA weather channel and sampled it into a song that I'm really enjoying. it comes about a minute in. One thing I'm learning about the magic of kayaks for spearing and foraging is there are reefs *just* out of reach of a practical swim, but far enough from any port of call that you'd be better off just heading to the islands in a boat. Because they get only kayak fishing pressure occasionally and sporadically, they feel like MPAs It's a lot of extra work, but the ability to cover ground and scout with sonar is so hard to beat. Tried making Lobster Tom Kha soup and *definitely* would do again. Highly recommended. https://youtu.be/t0i3wxJHnso Hope you enjoy!

Rad Video, thanks for sharing. My favorite kinda trips are fishing and camping and cooking over the campfire. We are headed to pismo beach next weekend and hoping to do much of the same. Got any good perch recipes?

I love perch... Especially big rubberlip. I tend to shy away from cooking any fish whole unless they're big enough that there's a decent meat to bone ratio... otherwise it just feels like work I've done fillets baked with equal parts breadcrumbs and parmesan, either butter or egg wash... usually with a hint of seafood magic or just paprika mixed in. Aside from that, I've heard they age really well for eating raw, but I haven't tried yet. Pismo sounds awesome. I've been really tempted to hit Avila again. I went up with family on a non fishing trip and rented kayaks to get out around the jetty near the lighthouse. I highly recommend it if you're up for a little extra drive. Otters and Seals *everywhere* on the inside. Just a gorgeous spot to paddle regardless. Thank you

Clever video, weather rapper was pretty hip! I share the sleepless anticipation the night before a trip. The food looked delicious as usual. Professor strikes thumbs up again!

Thanks y'all
I just wrapped up work on the second day's video... This one's technically a boat trip, so it doesn't get its own thread https://youtu.be/V7K93pfU3qo
