Thanks, The rod in the last photo is my spj/speed jig outfit. It is a home-wrapped rainshadow RCKJB700-112. Space is limited, so the rod has double duty. Almacos have nice white meat fillets, and rarely have the worms found in the tail sections of the Amberjacks, so yes they are a good eating fish. Unless I am all out of fish at home, I usually let them go to fight again another day.

The GoPro's are for my own fascination with photography and reliving the catches. I do have a Youtube Channel, but it has been years since I posted any content, and the videos that are on there are pretty basic. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwG...DV3LYWG2aYcoYA |

I love seeing your east coast catches. Keeps me stoked to go fishing myself. Thanks for the posts. Don't let the "richard noggins" discourage you from it.

I think you go fishing just for the arm workout.

What a haul! quite the variety-pack you got there lol. Thanks for sharing!! Also, would love if you could get some new videos on youtube! You consistently catch such a good variety of quality fish, I'm sure your videos would be quite entertaining! I know I'd watch 'em...
And Happy New Year to you too! |

How do you like the RCKJB700-112? I was considering building myself one for bull drum and catfish but leaning towards the 606-150.

I also have the RCKJB700-250, 400, and the 500 which was discontinued. These parabolic blanks are easier on the back when putting heavy pressure on a fish, or fighting a fish for a prolonged period of time. At one time I had an RCKJB508-500 which got snapped rather quickly when a fish pulled it over a rod holder creating a stress point. That incident reinforces the need for slightly longer 700 series rods to keep clear of stationery items on the kayak. In general, I find all rainshadow blanks to be slightly underrated in their line capacities. |

For bull red drum from kayak would you recommend the 700-250 over the 700-112?
