La Jolla 4-26-2022 on the Solo Skiff

Another La Jolla trip in search of California Yellowtail. It's been a challenge to get out as much, due to forecasts of high surf and sometimes high wind. Either can be a real pain and both together ruin plans. Used to get out at least once a week and this last year I have provably only been able to make out about 1/2 as often. Still the process of the hunt is a large part of the fun. With random sightings of Yellowtail, getting out is a must, can't catch one at home. You never know when the next one will beat your current Personal Best, of the targeted species. Tight Lines, thanks for watching.

The short intervals and wind have been rough even for friends on their boats but it looked pretty nice out there for you for the most part. I always appreciate a nice day on the water even if the fish are lock jaw.

Thanks for sharing.

Been tough to find a good weather day on the East Coast also. I wish I could chase birds like that with my kayak, LOL. Time on the water........ Keep em coming Mark!

Thumbs up

Good seeing you out in LJ as well, Gabe. I went yesterday also and ended up making real nice large greenbacks north west of Blacks. Trolled then around Torrey Pines area and came back to west of the Condo, but even though I saw decent marks on the FF, nothing hit. That's the thing for a couple month it's had signs that it can just turn on at any time. The red tide isn't helping.

👍🏽 Still way better then being at home . It’s good you can stay on top of conditions
