Panama photo report

Well it seems we just got home from Panama and we leave tomorrow for Canada for our next shoot. Wish I had time to write a full Panama report but I will just have to post some photos from the trip and give the details later.
All I can say is if you ever have a chance to fish with Pesca Panama you have to do it.

I hope you all have a great week of fishing and I will report on our Canada trip when I return.

The variety and quality of fish you can catch is just insane. On one of the days, I caught Three tuna up to 70 pounds, two rainbow runners, Two Roosters up to 50 lbs, Two cubera snapper up to 40lbs, a barred pargo and a Jack Crevalle. I have been down there twice and was not disappointed on either trip. This trip we spent more time fishing offshore because the inshore was being pounded by very large surf.
Craig Miller also hooked an estimated 350-400 pound black marlin that he fought for two hours before the hook straightened. We were kind of glad it happened the fish showed no sign of tiring and really acted like we were not even there. We would have been there all night.

Thanks Avery, I was home for two weeks, now off again for 9 days, home for a week then down to the East Cape for two weeks. My schedule stays pretty much like that through November. A little clue as to why I rarely hit LJ lately.

The rainbow runners acted a lot like Dorado in that a whole school would follow in the hooked fish. They have fairly small mouths so were a bit tough to hook but we got a bunch of them and they put up a decent fight.

Don't worry...haven't heard any reports of 70 lb tuna in LJ...

Great pics, even got a couple "Wow, I want one of those" from Clay.

Always bring my own gear, always pay for extra bags but it is worth it. Even at the nicest places the gear available can be questionable and often not kayak appropriate. Besides it is always nicer to fish with gear you are used to.
